At last year’s CMJ, one of the current, great pop songwriters said “every popular song has to be written for a woman.” It sure does seem this way, and the female led band, Woman’s Hour, do just that with their name alone! A London dream pop quartet, Woman’s Hour have a wistful new single, “Darkest Place”, that showcases their ability to write simplistic, swooning electronic tracks similar to those of Rhye and Beach House. Although the slow, droning synths and fragile vocals from Fiona Jane will probably strike a chord with anyone feeling a little emotional at the moment, the track is quite beautiful at first listen and even more so at ten listens. The song will be officially released on October 21st via Luv Luv Luv.
