Com.google.process.gapps Has Stopped

Posted on the 27 January 2013 by Andrew Monks @mramonks
This will be my first post using the mobile version of the blogger app, because yet again my laptop has decided to let me down. I'll apologize now if the layout looks weird or anything. This morning my girlfriend passed me her Nexus 7 and said "fix it, its broken!"
I was faced with an error 'com.google.process.gapps has stopped' I tried using the playstore , but it just kept crashing on me. ( screen shots below of the error I get)After a bit of googling I came up no decent advice, apart from wipe this, wipe that!com.google.process.gapps has stopped
One page had the answer for me. Somewhere along the way the download manager had been disabled and was causing this error so once enabled everything was fixed. Simple as that. To get to the app settings you press menu>settings>apps>all then scroll to the bottom.Hope this stops someone wiping their device unnecessarilycom.google.process.gapps has stopped
Enjoy!
