THE SHOWS Deadliest Catch Decided to go for cocktails with friends last night which limited my viewing to the high sea insanity of the Deadliest Catch. Everyone was on the crab, but none of our captains were too happy. Sig was really pissed off at Jake Anderson. The kid finally got a shot to captain his own super smelly boat and wasn't doing too well finding crab. He called his ex-boss for help and not only did Jake disregard the direction Sig gave him but he totally screwed him over and set his lines right over his ex-boss. Not a cool move AT ALL! Captain Keith decided to let his female greenhorn go after her first trip with the crew. He paid her 15K and sent her on her way. (Hey, that rhymed!) Karma's a b*tch because the GUY he took on lied about his health and blew out his knee. Over on the Cape Caution, the super mean Captain Wild Bill was also having greenhorn trouble. His greenhorn, had a disgusting puss-filled finger that needed medical attention big time. Bill had zero sympathy at all. I get that the clocks ticking and time is always money, but the kids finger was swollen, red, and oozing with goo. He wasn't faking his injury at all and Bill was just pissed and made the kid feel like cr@p the entire time. When they say the Bering Sea isn't for p*ssy's they aren't kidding.
THE OTHER STUFF
-Other than John Boy Walton, not sure I remember the names of any of the other Walton family members. I wasn't a huge Walton's fan. Pretty sure it was the clothes and the lack of a hot Walton that kept me away from that one, but for anyone who was a fan of those long good nights and suspenders, good news. The Hallmark channel will be hosting a Walton's reunion of sorts on August 3rd.
-Bad news for Little Steven Van Sandt, his Netflix series, Lilyhammer's been cancelled after 3 seasons.
-Bad news for Amy Poehler and her brother, their show, Welcome to Sweden was cancelled by NBC yesterday.-Good news for Cedric the Entertainer, he's got one more season of Soul Man over on TV Land.
-NBC's going BIG with The Wiz Live. The first cast announcements were released yesterday and I think they are awesome. Queen Latifah as the wizard and Mary J Blige as the wicked witch of the west. I really, really need a great Dorothy for this to work. If Zoey from Black-ish can sing…she's the one! She'd be a PERFECT Dorothy. Little known personal fact that I'll share with you all. I've never seen The Wizard of Oz in its entirety. The wicked witch used to scare the hell out of me. I've seen The Wiz though and I'm really looking forward to this one.
