Ciate Advent Calendar - Door 4, Caviar Pearls Prom Queen

By Lotionsandpotions @LotionNPotion
So it's time for the first of the Caviar nail shades!
I have never tried these before, but have read a lot about them over the last few months - they seem to have been everywhere! It seems to me as if Ciate really kicked off the whole nail art craze which has gripped the beauty world this year.
I decided that a full Caviar manicure on every nail would probably be a little much for work so I decided to just do the ring finger on each hand *nailing* a couple of trends in one (I'm hilarious, right?).
Here it is:

Ok, so remember that vision I had of beads rolling all over my living room floor?
Picture that but with glitter added to the mix all over the coffee table....Oops. There is a funnel provided, but I found that the beads bounced off it.
The instructions were pretty simple to follow - the general principle is as follows:
1. Paint your nails
2. Pour the beads over your wet nail/nails using the funnel
3. Press down gently on the beads to push them into the polish (makes them stick!)
4. Leave them to dry for *at least* 15 - 20 minutes
5. Put a little top coat on the tips of your nails only.
Now, I'm not going to lie - I don't love these.
I'm impatient and can hardly wait the usual amount of time it takes for nail varnish to dry so 15 minutes at the very least was a LONG time for me!
Also, it turns out that even after waiting 30 minutes (I was engrossed in a TV programme) the Caviar Pearls are no match for the washing up. Or a shower the next morning. Or typing on a keyboard....Or anything at all in fact.
It seems to me that this is the kind of manicure designed for women who do absolutely nothing, except maybe just stare down at their nails.
This is how the Caviar Pearls were holding up earlier this afternoon:

Hmmmm...
I'm not sure the 'tip' of only applying a top coat to the tip of your nails is such a great one. The beads fell off from the cuticle bed first and then kept going throughout the day.
I'm sure my keyboard at work is full of them now...
Perhaps I didn't press down hard enough? Perhaps a top coat over the whole nail would help? I'm sure there are other Caviar Pearls to be found in the calendar so I will try again and see if I have any more luck next time!
