Happy New Year!
I’ve always had a bit of a fascination with Chinese culture and traditions and I’m an avid reader of anything to do with the Chinese Zodiac. I was born in the Year of the Pig and I can’t tell you how accurate it all is! With the Pig now in the Year of the Dragon I hope to have a very happy and prosperous year, fingers crossed!
We had the pleasure of capturing an amazing wedding in August that is soon to be posted on the Blog. 2 days of celebration, one day following English traditions and second day full of Chinese traditions (Liverpool Crowne Plaza and the Chung Ku Restaurant). Even though the guest list was huge (compared to our wedding guest list of 46) we were welcomed in like one of the family and it had a real family feel over both days. As we left Maria’s Mum invited us to come and see the Chinese New Year celebrations with them in Liverpool and what an experience that was! I’m slightly deaf as we got to get on the other side of the barriers but it was amazing to be a part of. I even recognised a lot of people from the wedding as we were invited into the community center to enjoy the new year speeches (by none other than the Liverpool Mayor and Maria’s Dad, Mr Tam) and some amazing Chinese food!
There are so many moments from the wedding that I remember and I can’t wait for you to see the film but as a bit of a teaser I thought I would share a few of my favorite stills taken from the wedding highlights film…
