Obesity has been a really big issue in America lately due to the rise in over weight children. What is funny, is that none of the debates about child obesity have been about how to stop children from gaining weight in such an unhealthy fashion, but more or less about whose fault it is that they are so large. So let me ask you, whose fault is it? If your answer to that question just now was McDonalds or other fast food chains, I regret to inform you that you are wrong! Now if you are angry, and saying that you are not wrong because this was an opinionated question, it was not. Someone is at fault for child obesity, but it is not and never will be the fault of McDonalds, Wendys, Kentucky Fried Chicken or any other fast food chain, it is the fault of the person that lets the child eat it. Simple!

We all know that fast food is not healthy, but yet we continue to eat it and then let our children eat it. Ever since the downfall of the economy in America, more people buy family sized meals from these resturants for their family for dinner instead of cooking, because it is cheaper. While I understand that things are tough and you might not be able to afford groceries to cook, I just want you to be aware that this is unhealthy to do on a daily basis. However, if you choose to do this, it is your prerogative, and by all means go ahead, but it is not the fault of the the fast food chains. McDonalds never claimed to be healthy, they never mislead you by claiming that their food would cause you to lose 50 pounds in 2 days. In actuality, McDonalds puts the calories of their food on the wrappers and boxes.

When you go to a fast food resturant, who made you go? The CEO of Wendys? When you ordered, who made you upsize the Big Mac combo? The cashier at McDonalds? If your answer to these questions were “I did” and “No”, can you explain to me why it is that when you and/or your child becomes overweight, it is the resturants fault? Answer: It is not their fault. The CEO’s of these resturants, are business people. They are looking to make money, and it is not their fault that you decide to give them your money. I have a friend that is obsessed with Kentucky Fried Chicken. He lives on an island and will take a boat to a nearby island to go to KFC every weekend if he has to however, he is the skinniest person I have ever met. Do you want to know why? It is because he is proactive and spends his free time playing basketball or doing something that involves him moving around. If you are upset at the weight of your child, either stop letting them eat fast food, or have them excersise instead of letting them lay down and watch television all day or sit on the computer “tweeting” or “facebooking”.
