Posted on the 10 January 2013 by Anna Peterson

Samsung Flexible ScreenTechnology: The years pass and each one provides evidence that flexible screen is something possible to come in near future. This time, Samsung made move forward. The prototype presented yesterday shows a 5-inch flexible display which foreshadows what Samsung could offer. However, no date is mentioned for a possible commercial launch.

Samsung is once again teasing us with flexible displays with a prototype unveiled yesterday at CES. The OLED display with a diagonal of 5 inches curls on the right side of the casing. For demonstration purposes, we could see a welcome message appear on this portion of the screen in landscape format, but Samsung is not clear what this part of the screen could be used for.

The prototype itself is not even a phone because it does not include a real operating system. We are currently in the technical demonstration without knowing if and when such screen on smartphones from Korean brand will actually appear.
