Cool temperatures and wet weather couldn't stop a good time at Cavendish Beach Music Festival 2016!
Even the cool temperatures and threat of rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the over 100,000 people who attended the three day Cavendish Beach Music Festival. Decked out in plaid, boots and cowboy hats they were enthusiastic and cheerful.
Singer Olivia Lane took the Lotto Max main stage to a lively crowd as the first performer on day one of the festival. A group of ladies even started line dancing. Lane provided a high energy start to the festival. She did an amazing performance of her single 'Make My Own Sunshine'.Shortly after she finished the sunshine did infact break through the clouds.
Day one's main stage line-up boasted some amazingly talented performers, who did not disappoint. The Washboard Union, the crowd loving it when the played their very first top ten hit 'Maybe it's the Moonshine'.
Cold Creek County turned things up with a mix of their songs and various covers of hit songs, including songs by Flo Rida, Queen, and DNCE.
Followed up by Blackjack Billy who brought a high octane set, filled with crowd interaction.
The Road Hammers set was filled with crowd surfing, jokes and reminiscing about being here two years ago during hurricane Arthur. The place was rocking, setting the stage for headliners The Band Perry.
The trio, made up of siblings Kimberly, Neil and Reid, put simply; ROCKED! They put on an enthusiastic, energy filled show.
"Here's my secret, all of us who are not from Canada all secretly wish that we were." Kimberly shared, to roaring a crowd.
They were an amazing close to a successful first day.
Saturday started off with talented performances from Petric, the enigmatic JoJo Mason and 14 time Grammy winner, country music legend Ricky Skaggs with his band The Kentucky Thunder.
Followed by Tebey who rocked the main stage with his hit songs "When the Buzz Wears Off" and "Jealous of the Sun". As well as "Now I Do", the music video for this was shot during his last visit to the CBMF two years ago.
Next up was Emerson Drive, playing their hits including; "Tilt-a-whirl", "The Extra Mile" they dedicated to our troops, and their first US hit "Moments". It was energetic from start to finish.
After having to cancel his performance at the festival in 2014 due to remnants of hurricane Arthur hitting P.E.I., Blake Shelton took the stage to tremendous applause.
"Screw Arthur!" Shelton told the crowd.
Opening with "Neon Light" and playing hit after hit, Shelton gave Cavendish a show that was worth the two year wait.
On the final day of the CBMF the rain that threatened all weekend finally started. But it couldn't put out the fire of the performers or stop the crowds' party.
First performer of the day was Meghan Patrick playing "Bow Chicka Wow Wow" and "Long Way from Waylon". Extremely talented, an artist you will say 'I saw her perform back at CBMF 2016'.
Followed by Jason Benoit playing his hits "Cold Day Comin" and "Gone Long Gone". The Newfoundland native filled the Cavendish Farms Kitchen stage last year at CBMF, and gave incredible performance on the main stage this year.
Next was Bobby Wills playing his hits like; "Somebody Will", "Show Some Respect" and "Never Didn't Love You".
Even with the rain coming down Old Dominion had the crowd singing and dancing along to their hits; "Snapback", "Break Up with Him".
Dean Brody warmed the crowd up for headliner Kenny Chesney. Performing "Dirt", "Bounty" and "Little Yellow Blanket".
Chesney provided an amazing close to the three day festival, playing hits like "Young" and "Beer in Mexico". Despite the wet weather and cool temperatures CBMF 2016 was success and has everyone excited for 2017.
