“We’re delighted to have secured our first Scottish site, in Glasgow – a city with a brilliant burger scene that we’re looking forward to being a part of”, says Byron’s founder, Tom Byng.

Each Byron restaurant is unique in its design: the decor at West George Street will take inspiration from the Bauhaus art and architecture movement, represented in smooth contoured surfaces, muted monochrome colours and minimalist design details.

Societea Galvin pompadour

Guests will enjoy champagne in the salon before being led through to the Pompadour’s elegant dining room for a spectacular afternoon tea with award-winning Edinburgh-based author Sara Sheridan.

The History of the Lady

Sara will delight and surprise as she examines the role of British women from the mid-17th century into the early 20th century; exploring why social status was important, how the terms of ‘being a lady’ changed, the women who pushed and ultimately altered those boundaries and why female material is so hard to come by for historians. Sara will then mingle with guests answering questions and signing copies of her best-selling ‘Mirabelle Bevan Mysteries’ books, which everyone in attendance will receive.

Further Societea events are planned for April, May, June, September and October this year. Announcements will be made on the Pompadour’s website: www.thepompadourbygalvin.com
