Not only did BØRNS perform to an enthusiastic, sold-out crowd at Mercury Lounge this week, he treated them to an electrifying set and greatly exceeded their expectations. Opening the night was On An On, who shared their sound with the eager audience — a diverse range of synths and beats merged with elongated vocals and tones. As the small space gradually filled up, the crowd showed their readiness for BØRNS with unending cheers. Stepping onstage with his fellow musicians, he sparked a reciprocal connection to the crowd, greeting them with, “Hello, my friends. I am BØRNS, you are BØRNS, we are BØRNS, ” then launched into “Seeing Stars”. He continued with tracks from his debut EP and also gave attendees a sneak peek of his upcoming full-length record, Dopamine, before closing out with “Electric Love”. With chromatic lights backing his twisting and turning, BØRNS surely left the crowd with a range of euphoric emotions.
