Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado Plus Quinoa Co-Wash

By Bria

I have had my eye one Briogeo haircare for quite some time now, and I have finally picked up something from their awesome line. My shampoo has been something I have been the least satisfied with in my haircare routine; this winter has been really rough on my hair and my scalp has been drier than ever before. Since dryness was my main concern I looked to co-washing as a solution to my hair woes. I used to co-wash my hair a long time ago when I wore my hair curly, but I fell out of the practice when I started wearing my hair straight.

Co-washing is a great practice for hair prone to dryness. What is a co-wash? It's a gentle hydrating form of cleansing for the hair that combines the hydration and moisture treatment of conditioner with a non-stripping alternative to shampoo process of cleansing. Many types of hair can benefit from incorporating a co-wash into their haircare regimens, whether the hair is kinky-curly, wavy, straight, or color treated.

The Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Avacado + Quinoa Co-Wash is amazing, it was super gentle on my hair and made detangling an absolute breeze. I don't use a lot of product on my hair, but I do apply oils on it regularly and because I spend a lot of time in a pottery studio I'm sure some clay dust finds itself in my hair as well, because of this when I use the Briogeo co-wash I do a double cleanse to make sure it removes all dirt and oil build up. I would also recommend making sure you really saturate your scalp before you apply the co-wash and do not be stingy; Briogeo recommends dispensing 4-8 pumps of product depending on your own hair length and density. I section my hair into threes and use 3 pumps per section to get a good thorough clean.

I am really happy I tried out this co-wash and I recommend it to everyone. I can't wait to try more from this brand.
