Brasilia Sisal Rugs

By Vsudarsan

I've seen Sisal rugs in just about every home decor magazine. I could not wait to feature this in my home! The Brasilia Sisal rug I received arrived quickly, very well-packaged, and exactly as described. I love the look of this rug in my room. It has elegantly blended in with the rest of the decor.

The fiber for Sisal rugs come from a type of an agave plant which is spun into a yarn-like material. Therefore, it's natural, renewable, sustainable and biodegradable. As far as texture, it is not one of those soft rugs. It's a little scratchy to walk on, and I kind of like the coarse material. My bare feet gets stimulated every time I step on it. It might not be the best for children especially if they are crawling on it. I believe the harvested, and hand-woven agave fiber is stiff, resulting in a pretty robust and durable rug.

For maintenance, I plan to regularly vacuum and spot clean as it gets dirty here and there. The natural fiber in this rug is well-binded, and there are no loose edges. It is not as heavy as I expected, but not light either. I don't have a runner beneath since the chair is keeping it in place.

Overall, this is a great addition to any room. Sisal rugs will add sophistication without costing a fortune. Check their website for a huge variety of naturally woven rugs that can transform any interior into any style - cottage, beachy, or modern!
