dead gaze 620x418 BRASH, PSYCHEDELIC POP FROM DEAD GAZE [STREAM]

With the same fuzzed-out guitars, intense percussion, and wall-of-sound mentality that elevated bands like Tame Impala, Dead Gaze has hit the mark with his newest release, Group Tightener. While the record may only consist of 5 tracks, there’s a overall grittiness and brashness to the music that seems to fill the room and lengthen the experience. Thematically, R. Cole Furlow claims that each of these songs will “make you feel good about feeling bad.” While I don’t necessarily agree, their powerful, full sound certainly makes you feel something unique.

Mixed in with the bent and twisted psychedelia are elements of pop riffs and melodies, none of which ever seem to lose their edge. These undertones, though somewhat unexpected, provide a perfect balance with the thicker guitars, preventing the sounds and songs from blending together and losing their shape. Check out the album above, and be sure to purchase the 10″ vinyl as well!
