This was my second airshow outing with my new Tamron 150-600mm lens and am getting used to the weight. What I’m still acclimating to is the new phenomena of having “too much lens”. Here a Travis-based C-17 prepares to execute a minimum distance landing during the 2017 Wings Over Solano airshow. In production from 1991-2015, 279 C-17’s were built and serve in the air forces of eight countries along with the US Air Force. Nikon D500 w/ Tamron 150-600 mm, processed with Aperture.
