Dullness can only be combated by using something to illuminate and brighten and while highlighting concealer pens may be ok in that department, you want something that is undetectable but yet totally changes the skin. The Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing powders are the answer.
Part of the Brighten, Sparkle & Glow range releases in January, these powders promise to make you glow in a natural and believable way. Available in two shades, each palette contains a mixture of 6 luminous shades that blend together easily to create an all-over luminous effect on the skin. This isn’t a highlighter that is so shimmery it has to be confined to the cheekbones or brow bones. This is subtle, not glittery or shimmery. This you can use all over the face to brighten your complexion simply and quickly without the need for excessive highlighting. I have never had much luck with highlighters as I find the make my skin look to ‘disco’ and highlight my oily skin. These are different. They work great on oily skin (being a powder) and don’t highlight any bad points, the product simply glides over them and makes them look less prominent.
There are goodies in here too as it is formulated with Mulberry, Grape and Gentian Root extracts which help the skin along with the skintone correcting colours that improve the look and texture of your skin. It also sets your make up without skin feeling heavy or weighed down by product. This never looks cakey or masking on the skin and feels like silk when dusted over your make up. It is a real treat to use. You can choose the cooler toned Porcelain Pearl or the warmer toned palette in Brightening Nudes which I have. Even though my skintone is on the cool side, this still works well and doesn’t look obvious on my skin. The warmer colours also add a nice bit of depth and color to my face.
The packaging is also divine. Clean, compact and chic, the palette and the design of the colours inside just lift your spirits as soon as you look at it and it has a great mirror inside too! It is a life saver for me and I wear it everyday. People will think you look different; younger, fresher, more rested but they won’t be able to put their finger on why.
