Boating with Grandpa

A old man takes his grandson, a city boy, on a boat ride around a small lake in a remote village in the Kyaukkyi Township in the Bago Region of Ayeyarwady Delta in Myanmar. The township was among the sites of fierce fighting between government forces and armed ethnic groups before a ceasefire agreement was signed in 2012. While the truce has held so far, some villages remain in full control of armed ethnic groups and are off limits to outsiders to this day.
