It's December, it's frosty and there's people selling Mulled Wine in the streets, Yes, it's officially Winter!
I don't know about you but my skin is already feeling the wintry weather. I'm noticing dry patches and a flaky nose area (attractive!) so I've put together a few products to get my Winter Skincare Sorted.
So, let's start with the hands.
My hands get really dry and cracked, particularly near the knuckles, so I love carrying a good hand cream with me wherever I go. The Dr Ceuticals Hand SOS Intensive balm is balmy, nourising and non greasy which I really enjoy using and the Dirty Works Hand Cream has Cocoa Butter in it which smells amazing.
To remove my makeup, I'm trying not to use makeup wipes and am enjoying oils more. I have been using the Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Oil which does the trick perfectly, it just breaks down all of the products and leaves my skin feeling super smooth and fresh. With that said, sadly, it does leak :( I also love the Just Be Cleansing balm which you all know is my absolute FAVE. I'm starting to run out a bit but it's Christmas, I need to buy myself a gift, right?
Next up is the Makeup Eraser. I was a little bit hesitant about this because you don't have to apply a cleanser to it. It does work and is super soft. It took off almost all of my makeup, eyeliner and mascara was a little bit tricky to remove but all in all does a good job. I actually liked to use the Monoi Oil on my skin (it's designed to be an oil for moisturising, but it's a gentle makeup remover too!) and then remove it all with the makeup eraser like a double cleanse.
Moving on to moisturising my body, I always go back to the classics that my Mum and Dad use - E45 & Eucerin might not be fancy or contain purely natural ingredients but they do the trick and they always make me think of when I was younger and my parents would slater me in the stuff after a bath.
I'm loving that E45 have released a spray version which makes it easier for getting hard to reach areas and it stops my hands from getting greasy too. The Eucerin Aquaphor Skin Balm is ideal for giving extra moisture to areas that are particularly dry like the elbows, ankle's and knees. I also love the Eucerin AtoControl on my arms. As some of you know, I have Psoriasis on my scalp and arms which can be irritating but a really fine layer of it on my arms really helps to keep them moisturised and less itchy.
My go to moisturiser right now is the Clinique Superdefense SPF 20. I wear an SPF throughout the entire year and it's easy to forget about your face if you don't wear a moisturiser which contains one. This has a really thick consistency but yet isn't heavy or greasy on the skin whatsoever. I use this everyday and my skin always feel well hydrated.
I like to team my moisturiser with the Clinique All About Eyes. This stuff is like a gel-cream and is a wee miracle in a bottle! I absolutely adore it. I notice less puffiness instantly after using it and I always feel wide awake once it's been applied.
So that's what I use to keep my skincare in check over the wintery season!
