Author's Facebook Page Bitter Sweet Love by Michael Faudet ARC REVIEWI was provided with an ARC by the publisher via NetGalley. WHAT'S IT'S ABOUT

Michael Faudet's whimsical and often erotic writing has captured the hearts and minds of literally thousands of readers from around the world. He paints vivid pictures with intricate words and explores the compelling themes of love, loss, relationships, and sex. All beautifully captured in poetry, prose, quotes, and little short stories.

I think you loved me
The night we drank
Turkish coffees
Our fingers woven
Tighter than two
Hands held
By lovers dangling
On a precipice
Of a cliff...

WHAT I THOUGHT

I'm a huge fan of the author's previous collection of poems and short, story stories, Dirty Pretty Things and couldn't wait to read Bitter Sweet Love. I wasn't disappointed. Faudet is a talented poet and story writer. I enjoyed the poems the most in this collection but the stories varying in length from one page to several were great as well. Bitter Sweet Love explores the same themes as Dirty Pretty Things; love, loss, relationships and sex. A lot of the work in Bitter Sweet Love is semi-erotic so may not be to everyone's taste. However, the work is not explicit or pornographic, just teasing eroticism and nothing distasteful. I really like Faudet's work. I look forward to reading more. Some of my favourite pieces were Proximity, Sleepwalking, Eyes Closed, Insomnia, Our Autumn Came and Her Kisses. I'd highly recommend Bitter Sweet Love.
