Birthday | Animal Park, Flowers & A Picnic In The Woods

Birthday's really aren't what they used to be, I don't like a fuss, just some quality time with my family and i'm a happy girl. Every year people ask what I want and I always say I don't want anything, now, I'm not one of those people who says it then gets super upset when people literally don't get me anything, I genuinely mean it, sitting down and opening presents on any day other than Christmas just makes me feel a little awkward..plus why is it good to celebrate getting older? Haha.

So today we decided to make a day of it, at 9.15am yesterday morning, after breakfast and the difficulty of dressing a toddler who seems to always have ants in her pants, we headed out to an animal park not too far away, this was more for Abbie but was a great place for me to take lots of photos too, we had been here once before, for 10 minutes, because we thought taking a tired, teething toddler to a brand new place would be a good idea...So this was attempt 2 and it was amazing, Abbie was so well behaved and it wasn't crazy busy either, we were one of the first families in and got to see all the animals and have some playtime as well! We took Abbie out of her pushchair to explore but she decided that playing with the gravel was the bestest thing in the whole wide world..it took a good 10 minutes to distract her with the chickens and turkeys! After a little bit of walking around she put herself back in the pushchair, did the straps and stayed put for the rest of the walk! I've put together some of my favorite photos below for you! :)

We went back home for nap time and for some lunch before heading back out again to some local woods for a little picnic with some birthday cake! Mmm! I always feel so lucky living in the countryside, we are surrounded by little hidden areas perfect for walks and setting up your own little picnic! This was probably my favorite birthday in a long time, quality time with my little family, a yummy picnic in the woods and beautiful sunshine as the cherry on top! The perfect day if I may say so myself :)
