Elgin, IL:An Elgin man has been arrested after going squirrel hunting in his backyard.
John Hegel, 64, of the 500 block of Lavoie, allegedly shot the back patio window of a neighbor’s home in the 600 block of Bent Street, about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to police spokeswoman Sue Olafson. Hegel told police he had been shooting at squirrels when he accidentally hit the window.
