DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network has released the opening title sequence of their new CG animated Batman series, Beware the Batman, giving the look and feel of the show.
A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie.
I’ll be honest, I’m a fan of DC animation, well not of the current offering but of Young Justice and Green Lantern, however something about this show doesn’t sit with me. The changes to Alfred, the addition of Katana, I’m just thinking this will be more of Batman in name alone, and not the character we’re familiar with. I’m hoping I’m wrong, but having Alfred as his “backup” doesn’t fill me with a ton of hope, however I do hope I’m wrong.
