Three weeks after the end of the 2013 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, it is the turn of the best event organisers to be crowned. Trophies are awarded to the three best events in the three World Cup formats: Olympic cross-country, downhill and cross-country eliminator.

Olympic cross-country: Nove Mesto Na Morave confirms

Third time on the World Cup calendar and third time voted best XCO event, Nove Mesto Na Morave once again seduced the voters with its technical course, amazing atmosphere and large, enthusiastic crowds. It was a clear victory, with the Czech destination receiving two times more votes than runner-up Albstadt.

The German city of Albstadt only joined the World Cup this year and is already second in the votes thanks to its short, technical and challenging course. Meanwhile Mont-Sainte-Anne, hosts of a World Cup or World Championship event every year since 1991, is once again one of the favourites. The popular Canadian destination is third in the XCO votes.

Downhill: Fort William’s track record

Hosting its 12th World Cup event in 2013, the traditional venue of Fort William (Scotland) is best downhill event for the second consecutive year. The great atmosphere, huge crowds and smooth organisation that comes from their vast experience, makes it one of the circuit’s most popular events, which has earned the winning trophy on several occasions.

Host of the 2012 World Championships, Leogang (Austria) shares second place with Vallnord. The Andorra ski resort won over the voters with its challenging new track that finished in town.

Cross-country eliminator: impossible to choose

Two venues share first place in the votes for best eliminator event: Nove Mesto Na Morave and Vallnord. The eliminator format is taken very seriously in the Czech Republic, and the voters highlighted the interesting track that included both road and off-road sections. Vallnord was appreciated for its interesting course with good passing options that created exciting racing.

Albstadt takes third place thanks to is urban course and warm city centre atmosphere.
