Rapid City in South Dakota is one of our favorite places to visit. We have been there a few times and always have a ton of fun. We always take our weimaraner Zoe with us when we visit because it’s also a very pet-friendly town and Zoe travels with us wherever we go. Luckily, we have found several places that allow us to vacation with our dog and the Best Western Ramkota Hotel made for amazing pet friendly fun in Rapid City.
There are many reasons to love the Ramkota in Rapid City, South Dakota. One of the top reasons on our list is the pet friendliness of the hotel. Zoe goes everywhere with us so hotels that allow dogs are a must. The rooms at the hotel were clean and comfortable. I really adored the cowboy motif going on and the decor really put me in a South Dakota frame of mind.

I was very well equipped with a roomy and comfortable desk and free wi-fi to get all of my work done even though the great outdoors were calling. I managed to completely ignore the bottle of wine featured in this photo and actually completed my work before heading out to explore the rest of the hotel.

I mentioned that there were several reasons to love this hotel. Aside from the great location right outside of my favorite South Dakota road trip loop, the comfortable rooms, the pet friendliness of the hotel, there was something else that really excited me…the pool, or should I say waterpark. That’s right! The Ramkota has a waterpark in the hotel. You don’t even need to leave the grounds to have a good time.

You and your kids (or maybe just you and your inner kid) can spend countless hours enjoying the pirate ship, the slides, the pools, or you can take a dip in the hot tub . This hotel has everything. There is even an onsite restaurant. Minervas offers a wide selection of dishes for lunch and dinner and is also conveniently located inside the hotel.
