Benjamin Moore 2013 Color of the Year: Lemon Sorbet

By Lorigilder @lorigilder

The bold and saturated colors popular in 2012 are being replaced in 2013 with more subtle and softer hues.  Paint company Benjamin Moore has recently released its 2013 color of the year, a light pastel shade of yellow called “Lemon Sorbet.”  This cheerful shade  tends to rejuvenate and stimulate your mind, body and soul – epitomizes warmth and is a fitting choice for an increasingly optimistic atmosphere – and a sunny outlook to the future.

Using Lemon Sorbet in your home is a great way to introduce a feeling of happiness to a room.  Its light tones keep it from becoming overwhelming or uncomfortable, and it’s a great color for reflecting natural light to brighten up a space.

This shade works well with the other pastel colors that are predicted to become popular in 2013, as well as many of the stronger hues from 2012.  A room full of pastel shades is very calming and bright, while a space that contrasts pastels with strong accent  colors creates a more vibrant atmosphere.
