Become a Top Wedding Planner – Get Wedding Planning Ideas from the Wedding of Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman

Actress Drew Barrymore married art dealer and consultant, Will Kopelman, at her Monteceito, California home on June 2. Magazines have revealed wedding details that might give you ideas for the weddings that you plan.

Wedding Attire

Drew wore a custom Channel designed by Karl Lagerfeld. The pleated muslin and organza dress with a ruffled collar featured a skirt of tulle with feathers, embroidered flowers and a black satin belt. (The groom’s father is the former CEO of Channel.)

To keep warm in the evening, she topped it with a black Channel tweed jacket.

Tip – Karl Lagerfeld advises pregnant brides, like Drew, to be comfortable, even in their wedding dresses.

Music

The first dance was Band of Horses’ “No One’s Gonna Love You.”

The ’80s dance music was provided by the Spazmatics.

Ceremony

The bride and groom stood under a chuppah decorated with flowers and lace by Dolce Designs Studio.

Readings included passages from the children’s book, “The Velveteen Rabbit,” and E.E. Cummings’ poem, “I Carry Your Heart With Me.”

Tip – Readings can be from favorite books, poems and songs that are meaningful to the couple, they don’t have to only have a religious nature.

Food

It was a food festival. Cocktail hour had different selections from top chefs including lobster rolls and pork buns from Chefs Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook and  foie gras and steak tartare from Chef Naomi Pomeroy. It was followed by a family-style dinner of fried chicken and steak.

The after-party food was tacos from Los Angeles’ Escuela Taqueria and burgers from the Santa Barbara food truck, Burger Bus.

Tip – If your couple loves food that may be too casual for dinner, or that guests may find too exotic, serve small bites at food stations during cocktail hour or at the after-party.

Entertainment

A silhouette artist and a photo booth kept adult guests busy. Children were entertained with a mini movie theater featuring recent children’s films and an outdoor teepee full of  toys and blankets.

Tips – Artists of all kinds can be hired from talent agencies. If you don’t want to rent a photo booth, set aside an area with a backdrop and props and have a photogrpher snap pictures of guests.

Wedding Planner

Celebrity wedding planner Yifat Oren planned the event.
