Beauty | Two Foundation Favourites

By Megan Lillie @meganjanelillie
A blog post about two foundation favourites.A blog post about two foundation favourites.A blog post about two foundation favourites.I've been stuck in a rut with my makeup for a while. Despite trying lots of new products, I usually go back to the same-old, same-old...
But every now and then, a product or two come along that ends up being a total game changer. Something that exceeds expectations and defies the makeup laws of gravity. (Wicked reference, fyi).
It's not often one of these products is a foundation. I have two staple foundations in my life that I barely ever steer away from. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation for the every day goings on and Illamasqua Skin Base for events, nights out and all that palaver.
But sometimes all it takes is a delivery or a little switch up for you to find a new something something to love.
I recently got a little delivery of YSL products and took them for a little spin. Some were great, some were less than but one really stuck out to me and made me think why on earth I hadn't tried it before.
The Touche Eclat has been a cult classic since makeup time began (slightly exaggerated), but this is the reformulated release of the Le Teint (£32.50) foundation version. I haven't tried the original version of both, so I can't comment how it differs to the previous two, but lemme give my two cents on this one.
The coverage of this is definitely medium-buildable despite it's pretty thin consistency. It covers those damm pesky blemishes and adds a very subtle but dewy finish to my skin. It lasts really well during the day as long as you're not too warm and doesn't seem to crease as long as it's set with powder.
The shade is a tad too dark for me at the moment, but a few drips and drops of lightening drops and it's perfect. It's been great for working long days in the office when I have been wanting to look fresh and light for Spring.
The second foundation favorite of mine the past few weeks is the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation (£18), which I have blogged about before here. Oh boy, have I totally fell head over heels for this one.
If you are fonder of a fuller coverage, then this may be for you. Vichy is predominantly a skincare brand with only a handful of makeup items in their portfolio, but this one, is special. I have found myself reaching for it more so than I initially thought I would.
The finish it gives is neither dewy nor matte on my skin, it is sort of an in-between finish. It hides any shininess yet doesn't give a particular glow to the skin, I find I have to add that with my usual highlighter suspects.
This seems to last foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And ever. So if you need something to stick around all day long, this is a good one to try!
Well. There's a little attempt at a makeup review for you. What foundation have you been using at the moment?
