Beauty Review | Hairy Jayne Handmade Hair Care | Cruelty Free

By Lisagray @juicysatsuma
Recently I’ve been trialling some lovely products from cruelty free brandHairy Jayne*, but before I get into my thoughts on these products let me tell you a bit about the brand.
Hairy Jayne is the brainchild of hairdresser Jayne who hand makes all her products herself, including the illustrated labels used on the lovely packaging. Jayne has formulated her products only from ingredients which hair loves. This means no sulphates, no sodium lauryl sulphate and no parabens. Even the fragrances used are mixed from natural oils.
Hairy Jayne products come in four fragrances:

Musk - Neroli, Vetiver and Patchouli
Floral - Geranium, Bergamot and Vanilla
Citrus - Grapefruit, May Chang and Jasmine
Herbal - Peppermint, Basil and Bay

I tried the Hair Perfume with Heat Protector in Floral and The treatment Conditioner in Musk. Both scents are outstanding! I’ve mentioned in previous post how I hate artificial fragrances, especially in haircare. Artificial fragrances strip your hair so why do they put them in hair care? I would describe Hairy Jayne’s fragrances as floriental and traditional. The two I tried are both deep and luxurious, but if you prefer something on the lighter side then the Citrus or Herbal scent might be more your cup of tea.

The Hair Perfume and Heat Protector has a light, oily texture which I can’t get away with on day two hair as I get greasy roots so quickly and have to wash my hair everyday. Because of this I’ve been using this product on freshly washed hair as an anti-frizz, leave in conditioner, heat protector type product. Forget about your Moroccan Oil - it is STUFFED with cheap silicons and the amount of actual oil in it is so tiny it’s negligible - this stuff is the real deal! The gorgeous smell lasts all day and my hair stays frizz free until I was it. This is the miracle product I’ve always hoped to find for my dry-ends, naturally curly/frizzy hair. Beauty Review | Hairy Jayne Handmade Hair Care | Cruelty Free The treatment conditioner I’ve been using once a week as an overnight treatment. I run a splodge through my ends and then wrap my head in cling film before going to bed - sexy. When I wash this out in the morning, OMG my hair feels amazing! I can’t stop running my fingers through it, and it smells so good that I want to stop strangers in the street and ask them to sniff my hair!
The Hair Jayne Hair Perfume and Heat Protector is £11 for 50ml and the Treatment Conditioner is £6.75 for 100ml. Hairy Jayne are currently offering free shipping and 10% off all orders to my wonderful readers. Just enter BLOG10 at the checkout. I have my eye on the Fine Hair Gift Pack.
