The fact is that beauty is an ever evolving industry that moves to the beat of new trends, improved technologies and a growing entrepreneurial spirit - one thing for sure is there's never a dull moment! Its popularity is embedded in its ability to offer exhilarating challenges, passion and creativity in whatever field its people pursue. I'm here to inspire you to break out of the standard beauty industry mould and consider these 5 beauty careers as your dream job - check them out and tell me if it sounds like YOU!

♥ 1. Small Business

The #girlboss game is real in the beauty field. For those with an entrepreneurial spirit, getting into the beauty industry is driven by a passion as well as a desire to run their own business. Whether it's a wedding makeup specialist, a cosmetic sales associate, or a masseuse, roles in the beauty field offer a real unique edge. Most of these service-based business ideas have relatively low start-up cost which make it easier for first-time entrepreneurs to break into. However, small business ventures are by no means an easy feat, which is why studying an online business course through a flexible learning pathway such as Careers Australia, could help putting you on the right track. Keen to know what it's really like to be a #girlboss in beauty? Stay tuned as we'll be sharing some insights here on the blog next week interviewing the darling Liv Lundelius who builds her portfolio as a makeup artist using all toxin-free products.

♥ 2. Movie Glamour

A beauty career that has never dimmed in popularity is as a make-up artist for film, television or stage. More than your basic foundation colour matching, and having a steady hand with a mascara brush, this sort or career lets you really break out your creative streak. Theatrical makeup teaches you how to think of makeup as an art, how to blend the face and body with a costume, how to make and apply things like prosthetics, scars and wounds, as well as other special effects magic, and how to truly turn your model into a masterpiece.

Another popular career gaining momentum in the beauty sphere is nail art and design. A simple manicure is no longer making the cut in today's entrepreneurial world, but has instead made way for a field that is run by true artists. From sleek, block colours and miniature fruit, to perfectly painted geometrics and flawless graphics, the art of nail design shows off pure artistic skill on the smallest canvas that's truly wow-worthy - and we're certainly obsessed ( check out our free nail art tutorials ebook here to get you inspired)!

♥ 4. Hair Care

A career path in the hairdressing industry is an oldie but a goodie, as this beauty avenue has only continued to expand over the years - and let's face it; what woman is ever going to stop wanting her hair done? An avenue of growing interest, and one that holds plenty of potential, is hairdressing for the fashion industry. A lucrative career, hairstyling for runways and photo shoots opens up plenty of colourful doors for travel and global fashion weeks!

♥ 5. Beautiful Words

This may not be the most obvious career choice in the beauty industry, but if you have qualifications in styling, hair or makeup, then why not get into publishing? Beauty or fashion magazines love employing people with strong industry experience to head up these editorial sections, as they get to provide first-hand experience and insider advice to readers. Find it hard to break into the publishing field? Why not get take control and have your words published on your own digital platforms? With so many free blogging and micro-blogging tools, there really isn't any excuse on why you can't make your own voice heard in the online world. Need some blogging inspirations? Let's get real, you don't have to be dolled up from head to toe yourself 24/7 to work in the beauty industry ( seriously, who's got time for that?), but you do have to appreciate beauty and love doing this to change lives of others. Having a fine eye for detail, a firm belief in beauty and a willingness to think way outside the square are great starting points if you're considering beauty as your long-term career.
