Beautiful Books for Bedtime Reading

Book review of Sunshine & Snowballs and Goodnight Little One

We were recently sent two beautiful books from Parragon which are just perfect for bedtime stories.

The first book is Sunshine & Snowballs written by Margaret Wise Brown.

The book is a lovely rhyming story about the different seasons.  In it children can discover colours, sounds and sights from each season which are brought to life by fabulous illustrations by Charlotte Cooke.

Although I had initially put this book aside for Little Mr A, he did find it a little too short and didn’t think there was much of a story to it so I have given it to Little Miss A instead and she really likes the rhyming sounds and the illustrations.

It is a lovely book, particularly for bedtime, and think it is ideal for younger children, perhaps up to the age of around 4.

The second book is Goodnight Little One, again written by Margaret Wise Brown.

It is a lovely poem book with lots of different animals all being told to stop what they are doing and close their eyes.

Little Mr A quite enjoyed having this as a bedtime story, however, again I think he was a little old for it and the book is probably suited to younger children.

I think it is a great book for bedtime reading as it is very calming, both in the rhyming words and gorgeous illustrations – I almost wanted to reach out and stroke the animals, they look so soft and cuddly!

As with the previous book, I think this would suit children up until the age of around 4.

Disclaimer – For the purpose of this review we were sent the above two books free of charge.  All opinions are honest and my own and all photographs were taken by me and are not to be used without my permission.
