With Barn Owls being one of my favourite birds it's heartbreaking to see one killed in this way. No doubt the person who released this had no idea something like this could happen. Equally there is little doubt that Chinese lanterns are both and attractive and traditional way to celebrate an event but if this is the cost then it's too high.
