BATMAN ETERNAL #3 Review

Posted on the 23 April 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

Gotham City is going to war and there is one man behind it all…Carmine Falcone.  There is something about this book that makes me a little more excited.  Two words.  Stephanie Brown.

The plot is unfolding a bit more in this book. We dive a little bit deeper into the corruption within Gotham City.  Falcone is targeting The Penguin’s weapon depots all across the city.  This brings Cobblepot to a rage and wants to get all of his resources to fight back.  Falcone is in the Mayor’s pocket which in turn gets the GCPD focused on what Falcone wants.  Batman is trying to prioritize his efforts the best he can while finding out why Falcone is in Gotham.  All while this is going on, the sub story involves Stephanie Brown.  She stumbles in on a meeting she shouldn’t have seen and almost gets killed (by who will shock you).  She manages to escape…but for how long.

I am totally loving this story so far.  There is so much going on but not to the point where is gets confusing.  Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV are really killing it and the way that this is going so far, I’m sure it will be a fan favorite.  Something that upset me a little bit is that I saw Jason Fabok  post on his Twitter this morning that he will not be doing the internal drawings for a while. Due to the book being weekly, it takes a month to draw a single book.  Understandable but I was really liking his work.  Batman Eternal almost reminds me of an Arkham game to the point of multiple stories going on and how it will all eventually combine into an epic conclusion.

Jump on this story now if you need a weekly dose of Batman in your life.  Excellent reads for sure.
