BATMAN ETERNAL #20 Review

Posted on the 20 August 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

Lots going on in issue 20 of Batman Eternal.  This review has SPOILERS in it…in more ways than one.  It seems that the time spent in Brazil is wrapped up to me.  Flasario is dead now but not by the hands of the Bat family.  Batman and Croc along with Bard successfully save the girl from the Ten Eyed Man.  Not that we were expecting anything differently  but the way that Croc just threw her over to Bard made me kind of laugh a bit.  Bard tries to maintain his reputation and arrest Waylon for killing 2 cops but Jones wasn’t having any of that.  Over at Blackgate, it seems that Gordon made a successful attempt at helping out the guards but not without the help of another inmate who turns out to be yet another character brought into the plethora of them in this story.  The biggest part in my opinion was at the end of this chapter.  It wasn’t a surprise by any means but unexpected in the sense that it has been a few issues since the sightings of Stephanie Brown.  There is a cool 2 page event of here typing out her blog and putting on the gloves and mask with a nice reveal of her as Spoiler on the final page.  See! Spoilers ( not to be confused with River Song).

Good issue all in all.  I loved how much that crammed into one book.  It seems that according to Jason Todd, Batwoman got files as evidence to help set Godon free.  Weather they hold up or even make it to Gotham is yet to be seen.  There is an assassin loose in Brazil still so I don’t know who will stay and who will return to Gotham.  Now it seems like we are a third of the way through the story so far since I remember seeing 60 issues somewhere a while ago.  Lots left to happen. Gotham will be on fire if the first issue proves correctly.  Time will tell.
