Welcome to Barley Twist

The Barley Twist is named after the sweets which were made on this site many years ago. Now instead of confectionary, the kitchen serves up delicious, freshly cooked pub food! Our friendly and experienced team genuinely care about every guest who walks through our door - four team members have worked here since the day we opened! Plus, we're ideally located close to Doncaster Minster & Historic Doncaster Market.

The Barley Twist and other Table Table Restaurants have just launched their new exciting spring menu and what better time with Easter almost upon us to go take a look and explore your taste buds, to which our blog got the chance to try and test out some new food they had to offer.

What's on the Barley Twist Spring Menu
   Our Starters

Garlic and Herb Breaded Mushrooms
Served with BBQ sauce.
Chicken Goujons
Spiced breaded chicken goujons with piri piri sauce.
Carrot and Coriander Soup
Served with bloomer bread and butter
Crispy Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Pasta Bites
Served with a light sour cream and pesto dip
Potato Dippers
Topped with melted cheese, bacon and spring onion. Served with sour cream.
Wasabi King Prawns
Served with a pea and mint mayo dip.
Classic Prawn Cocktail
Served on crisp romaine lettuce with brown bloomer bread and butter.
Chicken Liver and Herb Pâté
A smooth pâté served with toasted brown bloomer bread and apple and cider chutney.
Buffalo Chicken Wings (Choose from our 2 flavours)
Feeling fiery? Try our spicy hot chicken wings or for something milder try our BBQ wings both served with blue cheese dip.
Smoked Salmon
Served with horseradish soft cheese and malted brown bread.

Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella Salad
Slices of tomato, topped with buffalo mozzarella salad drizzled with basil pesto.
Table Table Sharing Platter
Garlic and herb breaded mushrooms, chicken goujons, potato dippers, calamari, garlic bread and coleslaw. Served with your choice of two of the following dips: BBQ, blue cheese, ranch, sweet chilli sauce or sour cream.

They have a huge variety of food only going to show you a few from the selection.

They have - Smoked Chicken & Barley Salad, tossed with ranch dressing and pine nuts

Chicken Forestière! Tasty chicken breast topped with sautéed mushrooms, Diane sauce, crispy fried onions and bacon, all served on a bed of mash

fresh Prawn, Ginger & Sesame Salad

I'm a vegetarian and sometimes, its a struggle to find good food. most people think if your a vegetarian, you must like mushrooms or cheese. Although those are nice, Table Tables Barley Twist did not disappoint with its mouth watering Chickpea and Spinach Burger.
  

Served with a pineapple ring, onion marmalade and rocket on a pretzel bun.

This was really nice and made a change to have the pineapple ring to give it a lovely texture.

Our kids got a little excited as they got given some colouring and sticker activities to do which was very handy to pass the time between the food coming.
For the kids, Alfie had Cod Cubes , fries plus yummy beans
You can choose lots of healthy options we went for this for our son as its hard to get fish and other foods into him that's he needs, so this is such a good way with the cod cubes.
Millie had Penne Tomato Pasta she ate hers then finished off her brothers beans.
Chocolate and Caramel Tart
Served with Beechdean salted caramel ice cream.
  Has to be said this was outstanding and if you are a Caramel mad as I am you will be sure to love it.
We don't live in Doncaster and only visit occasionally, it's always a bit unnerving going to a new place when you haveyoung children, especially one with special needs like Millie has, you tend to go to places you know and that has being tried and tested before. That was your less likely to be disappointed .
Our worries were washed away when we arrived. Greeted with a friendly hello, and showed to our table with ease, they were very kind, professional and great with the kids. The service we received was excellent. Millie and Alfie were treated to some fun colouring and sticker books which really helped keep them happy.
