Barcelona Playing Hardball with Cesc Fabregás

By Stizzard

Barcelona Baulk at Arsenal’s 40M price tag

Why should Barcelona baulk at at the 40M valuation for Cesc Fabregás – one of the best midfielders in the world? It’s quite clear that Barcelona are short of funds and want to get a “bargain basement” deal for Fabregás. It’s a bit pathetic all this hard balling, tantrum throwing and telling a player to go on strike. What happened to Barcelona FC’s moral values and club statutes? Arseblog stated that Barcelona should cough up or * off which I’m inclined to agree with. The trouble with Barcelona is that they are short of cash and want Chilean star from Udinese Alexis Sanchez, too. I don’t see Barcelona trying any underhand tactics there, mind.

So come on Barcelona cough up for Cesc, cough up that 40m which is a fair price that a string of clubs would gladly pay for him but won’t because Cesc will only go to Barca. That seems to be the only card that Barca has left, either way the reputation of the Arsenal star will be damaged for sure amidst all these childish antics.

The north London club insist Barcelona FC pay that fee in cash for the Spain midfield star. But Barca will only go to £31m, with another £5m possible depending upon success.

That is not good enough for Arsenal, meaning Cesc’s painful wait to seal a switch back to his boyhood club is set to continue with neither club willing to budge an inch.

Arsenal’s skipper was at the club’s training ground yesterday for a series of tests. And it is expected that Cesc Fabregás, 24, will be back today for training.
