Our arrival in Southeast Asia hit us like a ton of bricks!  We stepped into the late afternoon Bangkok sun, welcomed by temperatures soaring past 100 degrees with 100% humidity!  Six weeks of cooler Oceania weather had promptly come to a close.  Dripping with sweat, we made our way to our AirBNB – a nice setup on the 3rd floor above a restaurant a few blocks away from the backpacker hotspot Khao San Road.  We enjoyed the evening walking the streets of the night market on Khao San’s neighboring Rambuttri Alley.  Vendors were everywhere selling food ranging from barbecued scorpion to Pad Thai to fruits of every kind.  Bars with live music and massage parlors lined the streets. We sat down in a pair of loungers on the side of the road and indulged in 30 minute foot massages for $4.50 each.  We weren’t quite ready to buy anything yet…
