When I bought these Blanco flats, now I’m not even sure if it was 5 or more years ago, I’ve never imagined that they were going to be a true love affair.
I have never found something a pair like them. A “tutti i frutti” prints made of strawberries, a rounded shape and a cotton fabric.
Overwore, from Rome to Cadiz passing through Sant Tropez, on the beach dozens of times and now inthe US.
And here I’ve decided to abandon them. I thought that New York in a morning of September could have bee a good place to greet them. And so I left my beloved shoes in the box of Banana Republic, that entered the scene in their place.
Totally another kind of flats, blue suede and toe strappy pointed flats.
I’ve already brought them with me around the Big Apple and made them the protagonists of a mini movie featuring a curious installation at MOMA PS1 (eclectic and innovative art museum that gives voice to many young artists).
In the floor, like a crack in the wood parquet, there is a video of a girl burning in the flames and asking for help. The majority of people pass without even noticing her presence, instead I like to think that my journey has stopped here too.

Quando comprai queste ballerine di Blanco ormai non so se 5 o più anni fa non avrei mai immaginato che erano destinate a diventare un vero e proprio love affaire.
Non ne ho mai più trovate di simile. Una fantasia “tutti i frutti” a base di fragole, una forma arrotondata e un tessuto di cotone.
Straindossate, da Roma a Cadice passando per San Tropez, in spiaggia decine di volte e ora negli States.
E qui le ho abbandonate. Ho pensato che New York in una mattina di Settembre poteva essere un buon posto dove salutarle. E così le ho lasciate in albergo nella scatola di Banana Republic, che sono entrate in scena al posto loro.
Tutto un altro genere; in camoscio blu a punta con cinturino.

Le ho già portate con me in giro per la Grande Mela e sono diventate protagoniste di un mini filmato che riprende una curiosa installazione del MOMA PS1 (museo d’arte eclettico e innovativo che dà voce a molti giovani artisti)
Nel pavimento, come una fessura nel parquet, è installato un video di una ragazza che bruciando tra le fiamme chiede aiuto. La maggiorparte della gente passa senza neanche accorgersi della sua presenza e invece a me piace pensare che il mio viaggio si è fermato anche qui.
