Balancing School and Blogging | #teenblogseries
This is week seven of the #teenblogseries created by the wonderful Anouska and Beth. Today, I will be talking about school and blogging, which is one of my biggest weak spots in my life. I love blogging and I hate school, so you can probably figure out which one I rather do. With that being said this is not going to be a post that will give you tips on balancing school and blogging, but just a little place where we can converse about the ways you can attempt balancing the two because I have not mastered it >.< Again, I will try to share some experience and some empathetic advice even though I am not an expert.
#1 Blogspot is no Youtube // At some time in out blogging life we have imagined what it would be like to be a full-time blogger like Lily Pebbles or Temptalia. To be able to spend your days traveling the world to Paris, Tokyo, and New York; to be able to go backstage at BDBG, Alexander Wang, and Reem Acra; to be able to work with companies like Lancome, Charlotte Tilbury, and Jermey Scott; to be financially stable by doing one of the greatest thing on earth, blogging! The reality is that blogs are not popular anymore. Ever since YouTube came into power in 2005, no one really pays attention to blogs other than other bloggers or family/friends.  'But Laila, Zoella and Man Repellent are popular bloggers.' Yes they are, but Zoella got famous from Youtube and Man Repellent has a very distinct/HILARIOUS voice making her blog awesome.
I do love Zoella, Sprinkle of G, and Essie Button a ton because they are just awesome people. They also brought a ton of readers to blogger because of their blog. Then again, through blogspot, it is hard to find related content like the Youtube 'Related Videos' in the sidebar. It basically feels like Google spends all their time on Youtube neglecting Blogspot.
The whole gist is that, right now, it is impossible to make a living from blogger unless you are active for like 90% of your time: Eat+Sleep+Blogging. When your a teenager, spending 6+ hours at school a day, it is impossible to that. So let's put our future 'Blogging for a living' dream on hold, together. I want to talk about this entire Youtube and Blogspot matter in another post.
Anyways, some tips regarding the actual subject of the post:
  • Write/edit/photograph all your posts on the weekend. ( non-example: not like me, who is writing this post at 8:15, on a Sunday night.
  • Write down your post ideas in a notebook.
    • Once you have an idea, think about it by doing chores/relaxing, not during homework or in class!
Lol, that is it for my advice! I hope the two miserable points helped, but I hope you read the entire post to see where I am coming from.
Thanks for reading-XOXO
