Bacon Wrapped Sausage Bites

Bacon wrapped Kielbasa is easy to make and perfect for brunch, breakfast or appetizers.

Bacon Wrapped Sausage Bites

Recently we had our annual Saint Pius X Auction for the school. These beauties were just one of the appetizers we made for the function. These sausage bites taste so good and are very addictive so you may want to make double.

We were looking for something super simple and easy to make and these fit the bill.

I made the brown sugar sauce the day before and placed it in the fridge. We assembled them just before baking.  We were looking for a appetizer that did not go over budget, was easy to make and also delicious!

In the end, we ended up running out of bacon, so we just put a toothpick in the kielbasa and basted it. They also turned out delicious!

Anyway you make these, I am sure your family and friends will love you for it.

Ingredients:

1 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons stone ground mustard
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 pound Kielbasa
1 package of bacon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium saucepan combine brown sugar, mustard, vinegar and pepper.
Cook on medium until brown sugar is melted about 10 minutes.
Cut kilbasa into 1 inch pieces and then cut those pieces in half.
Cut the bacon into thirds and wrap around the sausage. Secure with a toothpick.
Line a tray with foil for easy cleanup. Place the sausages on the tray and brush with the mixture. Place in the oven and cook 45 minutes.
Baste the sausage every 15 minutes with the mixture.

Peace be with you,

Veronica
