Back at Heatherley's and Back to Drawing...

By Pmeurice
A couple of months where the focus was placed on work and more personal projects - amongst them, a great trip to Japan, and I am sure some of the pictures and impressions gathered there will inspire some work, sooner or later.
As Spring is back (with more LIGHT!), I was happy to start a new term at the Heatherley School of Fine Art, with the most appreciated tutor (Allan Ramsay!) - My enthusiasm was hindered down by the fact that a whole class of eleven people has to fight to observe the features of one single model (for Figure, this is more than OK... but for Portrait study, this is a real challenge!).
For the first session, I was trying to get back to my drawing with - let's say it - quite a fight with the charcoal medium, and not the livest work done recently - but I was happy to be able to start working on an a dreamy expression towards the end of the session :
Back at Heatherley's and back to drawing...
For the next session, I will plan some oil or pastel sketches... I am not decided yet. I will probably need to do some work on it this week. I felt somehow quite frustrated during the session : it was like all the skill of observation acquired during the winter was gone! One shall never stop.
