Good To Know Information

Generally, babies get around 20 teeth in total. These teeth come in pairs of two; each on the right and left side of the mouth. It is usually seen that female babies get their teeth first as compared to male babies. There is a set pattern in which the babies get their teeth. This process lasts for about 3 years and this is when your baby will get all the 20 teeth as they should be. However, at times this can be a little out of order. But there is nothing to worry as teething depends on the genetics as well.

How To Keep A Track of The Teeth Coming In?

Teeth usually start to appear when the baby is around 6-10 months. These teeth are the front central incisors at the bottom. In many cases, this is not the first tooth for babies but they are just fine and will catch up with the rest very soon. You should look at how the teeth are usually coming in. There are some spacing seen in the baby teeth as they are smaller than the permanent ones and this shows that there is enough room in the future for the permanent ones. In case if they are coming in too close you can show this to your pediatric dentist just to be sure enough.

What To Keep In Mind?

Babies are prone to many infections and diseases even when they are teething. Early tooth loss or infections like cellulitis or diseases like gingivitis can be affected to the babies. Feeding difficulties can be a symptom along with cavities which can be a sign that you need to get this examined by a pediatric dentist. The general timeline for a baby to visit a dentist is by 1 year of age. Just because your baby’s teeth are not permanent does not mean you can ignore all that is occurring at the current stage. You should be vigilant enough so that the future teeth are not affected.

Though the tooth buds are present before the baby is born but it is important to take good care so that correction can be done on time for the future health of the baby. There are many remedies that the dentists suggest so that the baby’s teeth come in properly and without much pain. These can be some toothpaste which are especially available for toddlers who are teething. Likewise, an appropriate toothbrush for toddler also plays a crucial role in shaping the structure of teeth.
