Baby on the Brain

Since SOME things have slowed down, I’ve had a chance to think about baby.  Although it seems that things are always POPPING UP when I have a chance to breath.  Ahhh LIFE!

I mentioned awhile back that I did a baby nursery mood board in April.  It was to help me focus and plan, and a way to stay somewhat calm as the thought a baby OVERWHELMED me at the same time – all good things, just so MUCH emotion.  Anyhow, I felt like sharing this with y’all.  Happy thoughts peoples!!

1 // Inspiration for the nursery!  I love the vibe of this clean and simple nursery with a midcentury modern flair.  It looks so calm and serene, which it what I strive to be as a mother instead of my usual spazzy self!  It’s also a perfect gender neutral palette for our little surprise.  Image via http://bit.ly/17Z1Dls

2 // Grey – we recently painted the walls a light gray.  I wanted a color but something that would be soft and classic.

3 // I originally had my eye on the Makros lamp from Ikea but found this fun lamp at Lowes.  After getting home, we realized it is EXTREMELY similar to ANOTHER Ikea lamp (the Knappa).  Funny how things turn out sometimes.

4 // Babyletto Hudson Crib – Simple and Modern and Safe.  This fit the bill and will convert to a toddler bed.  It’s still in the box, but we’re hoping to assemble it soon.  We’ve finally assembled it!  Hurrah!

5 // Rocker – No it’s not a glider, but we really don’t have much room.  So, I’m going for this cute little rocker.   Throwing this Ikea rug on will add a cozy touch.

6 // Tassel garland or bunting flags, that is the question! – We have guest room furniture in the nursery, and one piece is a queen sized bed.  Changing the linens and hanging something happy on the headboard should give it a lighter feel.

7 // Hoo hoo! – Aren’t these owl knobs adorable?!  Sprucing up a very “adult” dresser by changing the knobs out for a sweeter look and adding a changing pad on top.

Alrighty, I’ll let you know my progress soon enough.  I did interview a pediatrician on Monday – think it went well!  LOTS more things to do to get ready for baby!  :)
