HBO Latino announced the exclusive television premiere of LANDFILL HARMONIC to air on February 17, 2017 at 8 PM, following the documentary's successful 2016 theatrical release in the United States and Canada by Film Collaborative and Emerging Pictures. You can catch the film after it airs on HBO NOW, HBOGO, HBO On Demand and affiliate portals. In addition, the DVD/BluRay is available via FilmRise and educational distribution is provided by Tugg, Inc..

LANDFILL HARMONIC is the acclaimed SXSW and AFI FEST audience award winning film following the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a Paraguayan musical youth group of kids that live next to one of South America's largest landfills. This unlikely orchestra plays music from instruments made entirely out of garbage from the landfill. When their amazing story goes viral, the orchestra is catapulted into the global spotlight. With the guidance of their music director Favio Chavez, they must navigate this new world of arenas, stadiums, concert halls and sold out performances. However, when a natural disaster devastates their community, the orchestra provides a major source of hope for the town.

"Our goal is to show that culture is a basic human need and that music can truly change lives," says music director Chavez. "Even when we live in the most unfavorable conditions, we must never stop dreaming. And this orchestra and these kids are a perfect example of that."

LANDFILL HARMONIC is a testament to the transformative power of music and the resilience of the human spirit. It has played over 200 film festivals around the world and has won over 37 awards and prizes.
