AW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East BloggersLast night, I had quite the cosy evening, surrounded by some local bloggers and chatting AW16 trends and key pieces with some of the biggest retailers at Intu Metrocentre. We're talking House of Fraser, Tom Ford and Aspinal of London. Intrigued...I bet you are!AW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East Bloggers FlowersAW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East BloggersAW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East Bloggers CarlucciosAW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East BloggersAW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East BloggersAW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East BloggersAW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East Bloggers Aspinal of LondonAW16 Style Intu Metrocentre Seasonal Trends North East Bloggers Cath Kidston Fur

I'll put my giant meringue the size of my face (not even kidding) to one side and let's talk trends.

Velvet Dreams is bringing back velvet with a sense of luxury and soft feminine touches. Whether you're fully embracing it in an emerald green bodycon dress, or adding cute detailing with a choker, it's gonna be big this party season. I'm already eyeing up this gorgeous outfit one of the models was wearing. I'll let you in on a secret too, it's actually a top and skirt combo - I know, I was fooled into thinking it was a dress. But, as resident style guru, Michaela said, it allows way more flexibility with the outfits you can put together, so if you're hitting up a few festive parties, you needn't be snapped wearing the same outfit to each. Clever, or what?

Purple Reign is also a big trend and deep purple, burgundy shades are the kind I gravitate to in the colder months. Tom Ford have this covered in their stunning Black Orchid lipstick, just look at how incredible the model looks wearing it, teamed with that pencil skirt. Their Christmas gifts this year are amazing, make sure you pass on some not-so-subtle hints to your other half!

Heritage Checks covers off all your tartan and tweed inspired prints, chunky knits and cosy wool coats. Think Vivienne Westwood bold prints, with a rust jumper layered underneath. Lots of autumnal shades, red through to khaki and forest green. Animal Print is also a big trend that sees no sign of disappearing soon and leopard print is everywhere. I'd recommend working in one print piece to make a statement and for the cheaper price point, Primark have some great stock in!

Finally, Midnight Sparkle, another party season themed trend I'd say. Big, bold and bright. Whether it's metallic boots, sequin embellished bomber jackets (right up my street) or something more subtle like plum coated jeans, you can be as shimmery as you like. The more glitter the better, I'd say!

Don't forget accessories and from lust worthy bags from Aspinal of London, who have just recently opened a concession in House of Fraser, to the gorgeous Love Coins from Thomas Sabo, which you can engrave, to make a gift that little more special and personal, you can totally justify a little extra sparkle and glamour this season. Thomas Sabo also offer a range of other engraveable gifts and seriously gorgeous jewelry. Is it wrong for me to be making a Christmas wishlist already? I hope not...

With bags available in a multitude of colourways and textures, Aspinal of London definitely have that luxury feel. On a slightly cheaper price point, but still with a luxurious feel, is Kate Spade and this plum bag just shouts A/W, plus it's the perfect everyday size. What are you waiting for, I'll meet you in Tessuti to check out the range!

Intu MetroCentre's Style Garden is up all weekend, so make sure you pop along for some new season inspiration to help you pick up some key pieces and be ahead of the game! You can also book personal sessions, so they're perfect if you're looking to refresh your wardrobe or fancy a glass of fizz with the girls whilst you chat clothes and shoes!

What's your favorite trend this A/W and what's your staple piece? I'd love to know!
