Authentic Power: Get in Touch With Your Core Genius

By Pamela Brown

When I was in high school, I constantly compared myself to other girls who were getting all the boys attention. Here I am, muscular, flat-chest, and skinny, while all these other girls who I though were more feminine, curvy, and physically mature. I always said to myself, "I will be happy when I finally develop a 'woman's body' ".

Then here comes college. I develop, and I finally start getting the attention of college men. But, I still felt so empty inside, so used, so unhappy. I used to be so lost and confused. I've finally developed, and I still don't have what I want- a boyfriend that loves me.

It took me a long time to realize that I never really learned to love myself or my body. I never really got in touch with why I am wonderful and amazing. I never really learned what attracts positive people and relationships into your life. Until I began to develop a relationship with myself by learning all about self-acceptance.

If you read the you learned that previous post, self-acceptance is the big secret behind accepting your body. And if you can't accept your body, then you can't accept yourself.

Self-acceptance and self-respect directly impacts your financial power and career success...

So, the first post taught you how to get in touch with your passions. This time, you are about to learn how to get in touch with your core genuis!

What is your core genius?

What is the genius that is at your core?

It is your naturally way of thinking, feeling, and behaving. These are the qualities you are born with, and when you use them, you are expressing who you truly are. Self-expression increases feelings of enthusiasm, self-accepetance, and happiness. You get in touch with your significance, especially when you use your core genius to make a difference in the world, in your life, or in someone else's life.

When it comes to my core genius, I love to inspire people to persevere and achieve their dreams. I love to inspire the desire to learn and create ways to help people learn. I also have a desire to help others be successful and have a huge impact in their lives. I have a desire to do big things. I want to leave a legacy.

Moreover, I value uniqueness; I value what makes each person great. I understand that people perform best when they are able to use their strengths. I care about learning as much as I can about people (both personally and professionally) because it helps me to understand what they need to thrive in their career and life.

I care about dynamic self-expression, so I am starting my business so that I can express who I am and meet my need for significance all while making a difference in my life and the lives of others.

Where to start

One of my favorite resource to use when getting in touch with your core genius is Clifton Strengthsfinder, which is more career-oriented. Another is VIA Institute, which is more character-oriented.

Clifton Strengthsfinder requires an access code, which you can purchase here.

I suggest you take both because you will get a complete and total picture of who you truly are. Sometimes, you may learn why you are dissatisfied with your career!

Please take advantage of these resources available to you and stay tuned for the next post!
