“Authentic” Brothers in Arms title still in the works, says Pitchford
Gearbox Software is still working on a new “authentic” Brothers in Arms title, according to company boss Randy Pitchford.
Speaking to IGN at Develop Brighton 2015, Pitchford reiterated what he told the site at DICE in 2013: the project was still in its early stages.
At Develop, Pitchford stated that extra help was being sought for the project, which is in the “incubation” stages. Gearbox is also looking for outside talent to work on its next Duke Nukem project.
“I think the next Brothers in Arms game has to be authentic and we have been working on that,” he said. “I feel we have unfinished business there with both the fiction and the history and I’d like to get into that.
“Sadly it takes a lot of resources, energy and money to do what must be done, so it’s not something I feel I could completely do alone. I need good partners for it, so we’ve been talking to great folks but it’s really putting all that together that’s the limiting factor.”
Pitchford said Gearbox would be able to talk about the next Brothers in Arms once all the development and publishing partners have been confirmed.
“I feel like I’m on the brink of it, but we’re not quite there yet,” he added. “But we’re in the incubation phase with the next one there, for sure.”
