Auditions for Four Upcoming Shows by Tanghalang Pilipino

Auditions for Tanghalang Pilipino’s 26th Theater Season productions will be held on two Sundays, April 15 and 22, 2012, 1-8 p.m., at the Bulwagang Amado Hernandez (CCP Conference Room) Upper Basement, CCP Main Building, Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
The productions include:
“Walang Sugat”, a sarsuwela by Severino Reyes, to be directed by Carlitos Siguion Reyna, with musical direction by Chino Toledo and choreography by Edna Vida Froilan; it will run August 9-August 27, 2012 at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater).
“Walang Kukurap”, a social-realist play by Layeta Bucoy, to be directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio; ot will run September 14-October 7, 2012 at the Tanghalang Huseng Batute (CCP Studio Theater).
“Stageshow”, a dance-theater musical by Mario O'Hara, to be directed by Chris Millado, with musical direction by Jeff Hernandez and choreography by Denisa Reyes; it will run October 10-October 21, 2012 at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater); This is also Tanghalang Pilipino’s entry to the CCP’s 4th National Theater Festival in November 2012.
“Ibalong”, an ethno-rock musical by Rody Vera, to be directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, with musical direction by Carol Bello and choreography by Agnes Locsin and Alden Lugnasin; it will run February 8-March 3, 2013 at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater).
Needed are exceptionally talented actors who can sing and dance, ages 18-50. For the 4th production, “Ibalong”, actor-singer-dancers who also have the ability to play ethnic instruments will have an edge.
Please prepare a short Tagalog monolog (2-3 minute-from any Filipino theater production), three songs in Filipino (a kundiman, a pop song and a Pinoy ethno-rock and one movement or dance piece (folk or modern dance or both). Bring CD music or minus tracks. An accompanist, or performing while playing any musical instrument, will be allowed. You may or may not be asked to sing all the three songs, or to finish your monolog or your song or dance.
The Tanghalang Pilipino Artistic Director and the current batch of the Actors Company will also be scouting for possible new company scholars from among the successful applicants.

Applicants with complete requirements will be called to come for the auditions on a specific date and time. Please expect a call or text from a Tanghalang Pilipino representative who will inform you of the schedule of your audition.
