We are dedicating this week’s Monday Threesome to bands that exude a dream-pop sound and incorporate pristine female vocals.  Au Revoir Simone, Seven Swans and Erika Spring all have a distinct tone, but are rooted in the electronic dreamy-pop genre that we’ve come to love.

The three lovely ladies of Au Revoir Simone (@aurevoirsimone) have been in the indie pop limelight since they released their first album in 2005.  The trio made up of Erika Spring Foster (keyboard, vocals), Heather D’Angelo (drum machine, keyboard, vocals) and Annie Hard (keyboard, vocals) relies heavily on keyboards, synthesizers and D’Angelo’s drum machine to support their perfectly crafted lyrics.  Although we haven’t seen a full-length album from the keyboard band since their 2009 Still Night, Still Light, we’re hoping to hear a new album before the end of 2012.

Silver Swans (@silverswansband) pull their name from the villain super-group featured in the Wonder Woman comic book series.  The evil Swans of Wonder Woman have the ability to create a powerful “swan song” of sound waves with their voices that is capable of deflecting bullets and destroying anything within its reach.  That alone gives me enough reason to love this group of musicians, but after actually listening to the Silver Swans’ electro dream-pop tunes I’m locked in as an absolute fan. DJ producer Jon Waters and vocalist/lyricist Ann Yu lead the San Francisco based band into a realm of electronic beats and alluring vocals Drawing comparisons from The Ravonettes, Fever Ray and The Knife, the Silver Swans’ songs exude a perfect example of fantastical dream pop.  Check out Forever as well as their recent covers of Fleet Foxes and Lana Del Rey tracks.

If you’re a fan of Brooklyn’s dream pop trio Au Revoir Simone, then you’re already familiar with band member Erika Spring’s captivating sound (Spring is known as Erika Forster in Au Revoir Simone). In 2010 when the band decided to put their music on hold (until just recently) to pursue side projects,  Spring took the time to sharpen her craft and work on a self-titled solo project releasing a 7” split with Violens in 2011.  She maintains the electro dream pop sound that is led by her breathy vocals that worked so well with her previous band on the recently announced first EP out July 10.
