Ascot’s Eighth Camra Beer Festival

ASCOT’S EIGHTH CAMRA BEER FESTIVAL SERVES UP EXHILARATING FLAT RACING AND THIRST QUENCHING ALES, CIDERS AND PERRIES

Friday 3rd – Saturday 4th October 2014

The Ascot CAMRA Beer Festival will return to Ascot Racecourse for the eighth year on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th October as part of the Autumn Racing Weekend, promising racegoers a memorable afternoon’s Flat racing combined with the opportunity to sample and celebrate more than 220 different ales, ciders and perries.

The four Festival specials, brewed exclusively for this year’s event, are:

  • Binghams Brewery, Thirst Past the Post – Red Ale (approx. 5%)
  • Rebellion Beer Co, Photo Finish – Hoppy Golden Ale made with New Zealand hops and Munich malt (4.2%)
  • Vale Brewing Co, Bandwagon – Black IPA (4.9%)
  • XT Brewing Co, Palomino – Pale Fruit Beer made with Apricot and Apple, the color of a Palomino horse’s coat (4.3%)

Racegoers can purchase beer vouchers in advance or on the day. Prices start from £2 for half a pint with special offers available. A special package is available for groups of 10 or more including Grandstand Admission, a £2 Tote betting voucher, a racecard and three drinks vouchers for each member of the group from £25 per person on Friday and £27 per person on Saturday.  Advanced bookings only.

On the track, the highlight of the Autumn Racing Weekend is the Totepool Challenge Cup with a prize fund of £150,000 on Saturday. Also featured are the Group 3 BMW Cumberland Lodge Stakes and The John Guest Bengough Stakes.

“Now in its eighth year, the two-day CAMRA Beer Festival continues to be a hugely popular day at the racecourse. It combines an interesting afternoon’s racing, in particular on Saturday with the running of the Totepool Challenge Cup, with the opportunity to sample a broad range of beers, ciders and perries.’

Tickets start from £15 for Grandstand Admission and £20 for Premier Admission on Friday 3rd October and £20 for Grandstand Admission and £27 for Premier Admission on Saturday 4th October.
