Can we talk? I promise I’ll be honest if you are.
Barack Obama, his wife, and practically his entire administration are ardent supporters of abortion. Obama supports Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. As a state senator from Illinois, he voted three times against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. He supports partial-birth abortion, a procedure in which the baby’s body is delivered alive, but before the baby’s head emerges, the skull is crushed and the brains are vacuumed out. In extreme cases, abortion doctors actually deliver the entire baby alive, but then a pair of scissors is used to snip the baby’s spinal cord at its neck.
Now let me ask you a question. But before I do, I want you to promise me that you’ll put aside all your preconceived ideas of what’s right and wrong. Republican, Democrat, conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between, just put all that aside for a moment. I want you to ponder this question with an open mind and an honest heart. No one else is going to know your answer. It’s strictly between you and you. Agreed?
Okay, here’s the question: Do you honestly believe, in your heart of hearts, that God approves of abortion, that He approves of babies being delivered from their mothers and then having their skulls crushed or their spinal cords cut?
Now, hold on a second. I can feel your anger and your self-righteous indignation rising all the way where I am. But we had a deal, remember? You promised to put aside all your political ideologies and answer the question honestly. It’s just between you and you. So take a deep breath and let go of all your judgment.
Is your mind clear now? Good, I’ll ask the question again: Do you honestly believe, in your heart of hearts, that God approves of abortion, that He approves of babies being delivered from their mothers and then having their skulls crushed or their spinal cords cut?
What are you feeling now? A little antsy? Starting to hedge just a bit? That’s God talking to you. He’s talking to you through your conscience. He’s asking you to reconsider what’s going through your mind and the path your life is on.
Are you feeling really angry? That’s God shouting at you. He has to shout sometimes to get your attention.
You see, all actions have consequences. Put a politician in office and you bear a responsibility for everything he or she does or doesn’t do. Refuse to stand up or to speak out in the face of evil and you bear a responsibility for that evil. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
If you voted for Barack Obama or if you support his administration or his political party, then you bear a responsibility for the tens of millions of babies who have been aborted in this country over the last five years.
What are you going to say to God about that?
You do realize that your name is written in His appointment book, don’t you? You are aware that sooner or later it’s going to be your time to pass the veil and stand in His presence, aren’t you? What are you going to tell Him when He asks you about all those babies? Think He’s going to smile? Think He’s going to just let that one pass?
Forget about the Bible for a moment, forget about the Ten Commandments, and what religion has taught us, and the laws of our land. Forget about the intentions of our founding fathers who believed that government’s fundamental job is to protect its most vulnerable citizens from those who put profit and greed above human life. Forget all those things and just apply good old-fashioned common sense. Do you really think God, the creator of all life, is going to overlook your part in the murder of so many innocent babies? Really? Are you willing to risk an eternity in hell on the hope that you are right?
Remember my promise to you at the beginning of our talk? I said I would be honest, if you would. Well, here’s the honest truth: Heaven is serious business. And so is hell.
It’s not too late to change the path you’re on. It’s not too late to right the wrongs of the past.
So what’s going on in your heart right now? What’s God telling you? Are you listening?
