Am I Like That? People Skills

Today we address how we perceive the world from our own point of view:

A well-known politician was dating a female actor and was considering marriage.

He was concerned that the connections she had made in her occupation may be dubious and come back to haunt him in his career.

To ensure that this was not the case he asked a private detective to follow and report on her with the understanding that the detective did not know who he was.

The detective reported back that the woman’s contacts were generally upstanding citizens, apart from a politician of dubious repute whom she had been dating.

What an eye opener something like that is!

Are we the dubious people we are so concerned about in life?

Someone once said that all other people are a mirror for us – what we adore or dislike in others we adore and dislike in ourselves – most people are simply unaware of it.

This story of course a bit on the humorous side and yet – is also truthful for many of us because we generally don’t see ourselves as others see us –

So today my call to all of us is this: Are we upstanding individuals? What does that mean to you and how will you know?

Friday funny:

Billy Bob and Luther were talking one afternoon when Billy Bob tells
Luther, “Ya know, I reckon I’m ’bout ready for a vacation. Only this
time I’m gonna do it a little different. The last few years, I took
your advice about where to go. Three years ago you said to go to
Hawaii. I went to Hawaii and Earline got pregnant. Then two years
ago, you told me to go to the Bahamas, and Earline got pregnant
again. Last year you suggested Tahiti and darned if Earline didn’t
get pregnant again. I Ain’t gonna do THAT agin.”

Luther asks Billy Bob, “So, what you gonna do this year that’s
different?”

Billy Bob says, “This year I’m taking Earline with me.”

Hope this gave you a chuckle – the internet provides us with much silliness!

Remember – you create your day by the way you think. Make it magnificent!

Blessings, Shawna
